So who thinks that 5% of my savings should be in silver (can't afford gold, no point buying in half ounces or less and at the moment I'd prefer them to be in $200 ish quantities. I'm thinking I'll buy 10x 1 ounce bars and then the rest in 10 ounce bars to start. Then buy another 10 ounce bar every couple months or so. Thoughts? Spare cash, is my thought, so if its $20 a week or $50 a week just what is considered spare imo

Dose it remind anyone else of the EU or the formation of the Euro?? That's what concerns me about it... If it fails it fails, but hopefully lessons have been learned and it becomes a success China is another superpower, its about time they started acting like one

Just because it's illegal doesn't mean it won't happen. My biggest concern about post-crunch precious metals is that too few people understand them - their value, their quality and if they are genuine. This will possibly limit it's usefulness and therefore it's value. I do agree mate! My concern was that for 2.5oz of gold or 15oz of silver I can buy 12 months of food for 4 people! As gold is worth an inflated monetary value at present and as you said most won't know the value of the metals! Where Ammo and food will have value! You could trade food for metals after the event! I don't want to sound like I'm picking on you mate... But think of it as a tradable resource, if shtf I don't know the purchase power of $20 worth of silver, but I bet it will be more than $20 cash... (Concidering most people will view cash as useless) and that's a bet I will take any day

Just my two cents worth: I looked at buying some but decided that if they bring in the cashless society and a chip where no one can buy or sell with out it...then all the gold in the world will be useless! That's the goal of the cashless society...no cash...no trade...no barter all will be illegal! My 2 cents, research Soviet russia, more the internal black market, for luxury items, I bet pm would be used as a tradable resource

I don't really trust ebay for things like that... And the perth mint says it's a condition of buying pm in Australia so if say every business in Australia will have this. And the shipping from the USA will jack the cost up... I don't mind giving my info as I'm not money laundering which I think they are concerned about bits it's just annoying. Charge my card and send me the damn silver Ahh I was talking actual stores (been told there is one in Brisbane, no idea who they are tho)

1) there is, but even when "stale" will still burn just not as hot if you get my drift And I believe the life is years, even more if there is no o2 in the tank (so if the question is can you still use it, yes you can) just need to check seals etc 2+3) outside my league, i have a potted lemon tree that grows but dose not produse useable fruit if that helps I should hope there is no O2 in the tank, otherwise you have both components for an accident. Small amounts of air get into the tank and makes the gas stale This was a convo not long ago (another forum) and someone that works with gas gave some good science info on it, I got air in tank accelerates the going off process

From what I'm told the lemon makes its have a tart flavor
Other info the elect ones suck up some power
Also meat (I need to work out what this is) if you coat in nitrate and marinade over night you don't have to cook it (but storage in the book is right)

Well a bulk of us picked up the bargan so its wise to share recapies/ experiments to try
Since I'm popping my dehydration cherry so to speak (no fires today touch wood) what I have done with some apples, is coat them I'm orange juice and popped them in (4 shelves worth approx a half dozen apples, but used diffrent types)
Also on the top shelf I have placed chopped up mushrooms
Temp is set @ 50C (asked a few USA friends that seems to be a good number) and timer set to 10 hours...
I'm hoping the fruit sweetness will rub off onto the mushrooms and create something interesting (the mushies didn't have too much life left anyway)
Will post pics of end result, but today it is 26c with 46% humidity at this time

You know something Audi is quickly becoming a prepper Paradise Bulk water is well priced Their little "specials" ($40 for a air dehydrator that I'm going to test out today or tomorrow) And they have $1 easy pasta meals So for bargain "quality" (I use that loosely) they are quite good Other bargains is bcf (if you get their club card) $60 sleeping bags for $20... EBay is a simple get what you pay for, some items I'm happy with (most of my edc is eBay) but its flip a coin, eBay is useful but other places are better
