For the $$ your looking at a arc welder... (You may stumble on a gasless mig)
If you look into the second hand market, I have never seen a old style arc welder die, cables and the rod holder (don't know the techie term) i have seen go

Lmao!!!!
That's 1 way fully fueled trip on paper, dose the paper count the extra weight of weapons?? And you would want that bomber to return, crews and planes are expensive.....
So to the report the bomber can hit Darwin and crash land in the Indian ocean....
If China develops a better aircraft carrier and can do air to air refueling like the USA then China can provide some support to a ground assault here...

Drones could be useful in a bol, but they need to operate at a high altitude and for decent time frames...
So if I had a "fortress"/ bunker then a drone will make part of the security plans

Underground Secure car parks can be quite good , most have heavy gauge roller shutters and solid fire doors , also most museums have large secure storage rooms some with vault doors and are fire proof. Being a locksmith I have seen a few over the years , most being very secure. I have line marked a lot of basement car parks, there is normally a pump on the lowest level that pumps water from the basement to the storm drain system, they are dirty, dark, smelly (people piss in basements) and in general quite nasty, also a lot of points to cover, the stairwells and the car ramp, and normally the stairwell is locked.... IMO if you know what you're doing and can safely maintain all the systems then you're laughing, if you can't its your tomb

Looking through it, the safest places are places you know, home, work, etc, you know more about those buildings than anything else

My first aid suggestion, antiseptic wipes (eBay item number: 171370090775)
Takes no space, have 4 min... This is a preventive measure for infection and can also treat early stages
Other space saving extras... Would be a arrow head card... (EBay item number: 270807910249)
About 3/4 credit cards thick, surface area of a credit card, and a extra tool
And a few random fishing hooks (these are just useful, maybe not for fishing, but traps, and small rough needle work)
Those are my only worth while suggestions to consider, you got shelter and water covered, just food and medical... (Even work out a way to include some clean cloth/rags to it, saves clothing or a bandana or a Hanky )

Its still got me a little stumped ..
Rifle, would have to be a quality flint lock with the knowledge to make black powder etc..
Map + compass... With all roads and streams clearly marked
Good knife, radio is a good idea, a good torch... I'm thinking at light as possible...
This line of thinking doubles with bug out plans as a redundancy... As tough as it is in the outback, it may allow you time to recover/escape from some horrible worse case type of events, idk its a interesting thought

Its one of those things we watch for... But the resources needed to pull a hacking attack like that off that screws with the grid, and the safety systems, with this type of effect... Your talking outside the knowledge of the general nuisance computer hacker... (But saying that, if you see buttons you will randomly push till result..)
But a computer system going down (due to a hack attack) even in a power plant or grid scenario is a minor event, and quickly repaired ..
But if they have some knowlage of remotely triggering a cascading serge or a chain of massive power spikes that safty systems cant handle then your talking years to recover...
If it happens it happens, you tube american blackout and watch it...

My largest belief (crystal ball wise) when the S really hits the fan (a generational changing event) we as survivers will revert back to pre industrial age living but with a modern twist...
But a few things are becoming difficult to get a lot of info on... (Some exists some don't :/ )
Early Australia (both as the English prison settlement and how the aboriginal population survived)
The skills needed to survive for a extended period of time (wills and Burke?? And their failure)
Weapons and hunting techniques of the period??
Tools and equipment (the minimum to thrive) of the period
Then with modern "luxuries"
So with what we know as preppers and the questions I'm caught up on, if you as a individual had to (by foot or human power only) relive a scouting trip through Australia what would you be willing to take? Use? Skills to improve on? Any other questions or hang ups on this??
This is more with my inch bag focus, but also I'm stumped, as we activate the bug out plan, dissapare into the woods, or where ever, yet the bag is all you have...
