These are what id class as my GH/EDC items. I class them as this as it is what ive just pulled from my car. (minus a few things i dont want to show) Items are: FAK Emergency blanket & Poncho Pre-paid mobile Inhaler Gerber Multi-Tool Watch Red Devil (mini) Butane Torch Survival Card Flint Waterproof LED torch Uniden 80Ch waterproof handheld Milspec Knife GoPro (cheaper alternative) Happy to hear feedback/suggestions on what i have or what i may need, have missed etc. Next week i will be purchasing a toolbox for the 4wd tray to store all this together in. The cab hasnt go alot of storage so all these items are spread out.

Only a couple of Questions: * Is this kits primary function based on a short term event? * Is your Machete and knife sharpened to your complete satisfaction?
* Depending on what your planning for - I would add a radio earpiece to this as that allows - silence to listen to radio and for external noise.
*Out of the 14 items I see, I would take 8 items and discard the rest - but that's just me.

Thanks for the feedback sentinel This isnt really a kit, it was not comprised for any event, it is a culmination of what i have in my car. Hence why i classed it as a GH/EDC The knife, is sharp. My knives are used, abused and regularly sharpened with a Lansky kit. The Uniden has both a 12V charger as well as the std included ear pce. These are in the car glove box. I like this unit (even though its only 2w) as they are waterproof/resistant. If you could elaborate on what you would take Again, as i have stated..this is NOT a put together kit, more so what i have accumulated in which i will be basing my EDC/GH kit on once i get a tool box for the ute.

I like the idea of the handheld UHF and the pre-paid mobile in the car.

I like the idea of the handheld UHF and the pre-paid mobile in the car. Thanks Frank. I have the handheld incase i have to leave the car. 4wd has a UHF. Same principle with the phone, a back up from my main mobile.

Hand held UHF (my 4wd has one aswell) would also make it easier to communicate if doing vehicle recoveries (winching/snatching) or for directions over obstacles.
Hadn't thought of getting a cheap pre-paid, but like the idea. Especially with how quick new phones seem to die haha

Activated it on a long term plan with $30 that wont expire for 12 months.

I'm going to have to start getting serious about communications devices. I like the idea of the hand-held for starters.
If you're genuinely looking at developing this into a GHB then a small backpack rather than a toolbox might make more sense.

Or just put an empty backpack in, that way depending on the situation you can stuff the relevant gear in the bag and proceed on foot if required, once you start loading a bag your limited by the bag and thus your overall Every Day Car Carry becomes limited.
