hmmm, in the society that exists today, that's pretty cold, I get she is 100% in the wrong but shot in an ally in cold blood? they could have killed him when they had a chance, they didn't. I haven't even gotten to the unborn child yet. Call me a bleeding heart hippie but I couldn't have shot her. We don't live in a society where it has all gone to hell yet. Insurance company's will replace your stuff, the police will investigate the crime, that is what we pay our taxes for (I hope) very thought provoking article Remnantprep, there is his side of the argument too, he is old, maybe frail, was pushed down, robbed, manhandled and acted in the heat of the moment maybe, he did pursue her and do it. I won't even touch the gun control topic

Totally agree Danny. WTF?! Property is one thing, killing someone who is no longer a threat to you and is LEAVING is just cold. You couldn't even argue he was making sure they didn't come back - why on earth would they go to the effort of re-robbing some crazy old dude who they know is packing?
The way he says "“She says, ‘Don’t shoot me, I’m pregnant! I’m going to have a baby!’ And I shot her anyway,” Greer said." is so cold.

Wow, that is pretty messed up. I can understand wanting to protect yourself and defend your property, but shooting someone who is fleeing, not just to stop them, but shooting her twice, is beyond self defence.

If the Attack had stopped and they were fleeing the scene then he actually had no reason to shoot except for that little thing we humans call Revenge. Unfortunately for Greer, a Revenge Killing is not included in the statute for Stand your ground law.

There was a case somewhere in the US where a homeowner shot and killed a late teenaged burglar, his 4 or 5 mates who were with him in the attempted burglary were all tried and convicted for his murder, even one who was outside and acting as a lookout.
That is going a bit far, IMO.

Well, they push abortion, euthanasia, mercy killings, they even talking about giving life prisoners the option of euthanasia. So when you really get down to it, you teach people that life is worth nothing and any reason to destroy it is absolutely fine and nothing to be fretted or worried about, then why are we shocked when this type of thing happens?

Actually depending on the state, you can shoot an offender who is running away. I'm not up to date on which states this is in though.
Personally I think that the more criminals who get shot, the less people will turn to crime.
