Does anyone else feel that they don't have enough storage space at home?
What have people done to get more space? Do people rent storage space.
Any thoughts?
Cheers, AAA

We have some shelving in the garage but way too much other crap. However we have friends out on a rural property who have offered to store some of our junk out there, which will free up some space at home, and we'll probably seed some prep stuff out there as well, as it's one of our BOL options, even though they don't believe in the concept.

Yeh, i rent. I make the most of it. I use black stack-able roller boxes with lids in the garage. These are from Bunnings, About $12ea but ive always bought mine on special @ 3 for $20 Ive got suff stacked in the bedroom robe. Crap everywhere on the floor on my side of the bed. The fine line you need to determine is the one between prepper and hoarder. but not full of carp that he has hoarded He hoards fish? I hope he hoards water too or they could get a little smelly :/

Lay a few sheets of chipboard in the ceiling, lay some pavers under the house, that's what I've been doing.

graynomad - You're definitely lucky with the ability to fit some shipping containers! Hopefully I will be able to do the same soon.
I am one that likes the idea of networking with a group. My father and I will in the next month or so have 350 acres, majority of which is native bush.
I like the idea of meeting some of you guys at group meets etc. Depending on how things go I might be happy for people to drop a cache or two of their stuff here - if you feel its a good staging location or BOL for you.
I will certainly be looking at a container or two depending on size and price.

Be perfect for weekends training etc. Im excited for you mate!

Storage options would be dependent on your living arrangement and vary if you rent, own a house, have an apartment, in a share house, have sheds etc.
We have our own place so pretty much free to do what we want. Recently had a big clean up in our cupboards and got rid of rubbish we haven't used or needed for a few years, opening up plenty of extra storage space. Also had a spare back room with no built in cupboards so just bought a bunch of flat pack storage cupboards which give us plenty of room. Have found the main thing for us was to reduce unnecessary clutter
If you rent things would get a bit more difficult. But again, plastic storage tubs, flat pack cupboards are relatively cheap and a decent amount of space. There are also quite a few of well secured storage yards/warehouses around so that could be an option aswell

You can raise your bed to fit extra stuff underneath as well. Lay a few sheets of chipboard in the ceiling, lay some pavers under the house, that's what I've been doing. What sort of stuff can you store in the roof? Would the extreme temp changes make even non food stuff sweat?

vacuum bagged clothes, blankets etc, etc. not really an issue with sweating. Never keep food above the house, under is fine as it's always cooler down there.

I use the bunnings under bed storage roller containers. I got them for when we were living in an apartment and had limited space, but now we are living in a house with more rooms, storage spots and they work well in reducing clutter.

We use 44gal drums with lids in our spare room for now! The container gets too hot!
Steel drums keep rodents out and stops things getting crushed. Most of my plastic container lids split from the weight! I can fit 3 large tubs into a 44 no problem!
We tell visitors they hold bedding and clothes and Jinny's spare materials and nick knacks!LOL

Nice one Gaz, also once they are emptied of supplies they can hold water or be turned into a makeshift washing machine or bath or barbeque etc, etc. Such a great multi purpose prep.
