Ok so I'm not really a fantastic gardener and would be interested in some corrections from some of you on this. They had these mini greenhouses at Bunnings for about $20 but it seemed a bit pricey for a piece of plastic. So for a couple of dollars I bought two plastic storage containers. Drilled a whole in each end of one of them to allow water to drain out, I did this just above where the bottom of the other one will sit. This one with the whole on the side at each end will be the outside. Next I drilled holes in the bottom of the other container so the water could drain out and also get back in to keep the soil moist. Once the holes are drilled in the bottom, drop this one into the first one. This is what i'm hoping to grow, eventually. And I did it half wrong I suppose, your meant to grow it in the eggcups and when it takes off put it in soil, but meh, sue me I'm no green thumb. Give the blighters a watering and place the lid on and put it in a spot where it will get some sun, preferably raised off the ground a little. Actually it looks like the soil level is a "bit" uneven LMFAO oh well not bad for under 10 minutes. Once the Blighters pop through I am assuming they will want some ventilation too.

Awesome! I'm totally stealing this idea! I'm thinking it would be a good idea to drill a couple vent holes in the lid. This is a cold frame on a budget. Good job sir!

Yeah I wasn't 100% on drilling the holes in the lid, because I'd want to close it off at night time to keep the heat in, though a few 1-3mm holes wouldn't be the end of the world. Thanks for the input mate.

haha thanks mate, seriously me too, I have no idea if it will work or not. It is still pretty cold down here and Winter has a few weeks to go till spring, but this is Melbourne area so it will be pretty nasty and cold until November probably, I reckon I jumped the gun but oh well I'll just try again early November.

If you've got two boxes, you've got two lids, so drill holes in one and leave the other intact and you have the best of both worlds.
