Saw this at the local IT show. A bit expensive, at S$ 179 and S$280 regular, but 65Wh and 85Wh can power a Macbook Pro for 14 hours and 20 hours respectively. Meaning you could power a fan, a microwave oven, or a toaster for quite some time. A few of these with a GOOD solar panel (think goal zero) and you will have a portable power source for SHTF. Quiet too!

That is a good find, myrrph! the toaster and microwave would be out of the question because the max 65W/85W wouldn't be able to handle the load of these appliances.
Having multiples of these would be good. Personally, I have 3 x 3100mah and I am getting 2 x 6000mah very soon. My critical issues are lights, fans, cellphone charging

At that price, there are a lot more lower cost powerbanks if your intention is simply for USB lights, fans, and other USB based devices.

I have 2 5600 maH batteries with area effect LEDs. I stopped having portable batteries with less than 5600 maH capacities coz it doesn't charge my mobile phones at least 1x. My current EDC carry 2 10k maH chargers (XiaoMi branded) This will complement me because of the electrical devices it can run ...

The 3100mah I have can power a 10-LED USB Lamp or about 24 hours. It can also run my USB fan for about 4.5 hours, that's why am getting a higher capacity one.
It can also charge my smartphone 2x.

yup. doubt it can charge my s4 and redmi note more than once
even with 5600, I don't trust it to charge it for too long.

Note: its supposed to be the lowercase m (upper case M = mega)
1mah = 0.001ah (amp hour)

The reason I prefer this over the other rechargeable batteries is because these use Lithium-Ion batteries and not the NiMH ones that have a tendency to die on you if not monitored on a regular basis.

This issue here is not the Amp Hour rating.. It's current draw. A usb uses aboat 5v.
So if you draw 2 amps on a 230v system that will be 92Amps on your 5v system.. That would blow up whatever device you had

overlordI know right? DX is selling the same one for 45 USD too (or there abouts) the one I shared is 14W instead of 10.5W for the one you shared. I'm liking the 14W one more and more ...
