I just signed a deal with a factory to start producing some power banks for me, you can charge your phone or any mobile device and use it to jump start your car. I was looking for something that I could put in my BOB, they are pretty small and light. Took long enough to get the deal through however worth it (mainly so I can have heaps for myself lol).

USB coz its charged using a usb port.
Most portable Solar Panel set ups have a USB port to power and charge whatever you need. (e.g. Goal Zero Nomad)
So to say its USB is not wrong. But the unit itself is one which can power a laptop, so logically, it should be able to with the right voltage and amp.
just thought you might wanna read the ad again properly.

I'm waiting for the day someone releases a super capacitor filled solar charging power bank. When that day comes I may very well wet myself with excitement. The battery industry may well take a kick in the anus within the next decade at the rate this technology is taking off.

I hate turning away from ideas however my plate is pretty full at the moment and I am supposed to be semi-retired now. No promises however will ask a few questions and see what it would take.

I find it hard to walk away from good ideas and obviously if they come back to me with a viable option I would be sending some royalties your way (may be in the form of a brie cheese burger).

This issue here is not the Amp Hour rating.. It's current draw. A usb uses aboat 5v. So if you draw 2 amps on a 230v system that will be 92Amps on your 5v system.. That would blow up whatever device you had Current is AmpHour Each port has a maximum AmpHour rating so even if you plug in a USB device that draws 2Amps@5V but the port is only rated at 1Amp@5V then it will only give out 1Amp@5V. It is the same the other way around. A 1Amp@5V USB device plugged into a 2Amp@5V USB Port will only draw 1Amp@5V. For the laptops, there is a 110V plug provided in the Powerbank. Each of these devices have step up and step down circuits to change the level of voltage depending on the port provided.
