Heres a quick and easy bird snare you can make from limited materials. First, find a green sapling which can be bent into a U shape. Using vine or paracord tie the ends of the sapling to a sturdy branch. Grab a small twig for use as a trigger number 1 and a stick about a foot long as trigger number 2. Tie your paracord to an adjacent springy limb then tie the cord around the smaller trigger about halfway down pull on it and hook it under the U branch under tension as shown. Place the larger stick through the U bend and raise it up till it hooks under the smaller trigger keeping it taught using the remaining cord to make a slip knot and noose. The noose is then placed over the stick. The bird lands on the stick which depresses the stick past the trigger which is under tension. The noose pulls back and catches the birds feet.

I love practicing making traps, most of my traps use this trigger system as it is simple and works well.

You can use a hammock or a fishing net to catch birds too, just stringing it up in the flight path of the birds but not to strong as you want the net to come down once the bird hits it.
