Nice little kit there... I'd put a LED Lenser K2 in it, swap the matches for a mini bic, maybe make a couple other tweeks but at that price it's a great basis for a PSK.
If you order one, let me know what they sting you for shipping.

I'm sure I could find out, but on mobile at the moment. As for the use of the small survival kits, I'm not sure... I must be in a pessimistic mode tonight so I do apologise. I guess I see these kits as a last resort in a way. So in my opinion the purpose of these kits is to sustain your survival when you have absolutely nothing else. I don't feel I could survive with only the cobtents of that kit. In sure would help a lot, but not sure to what lengths...

Agreed, they are not a comprehensive solution. They are a compromise. It's not something you can bug out with and be fine, but it's something to throw in the tackle box, ammo tin, day bag, laptop bag, glove box, handbag/murse, cargo pocket, etc.. So when you usually have nothing, you have a start.
Edited for typo, I'm also on my phone

I'd call them RESCUE kits. I would not want to survive with these kits, I would not want to spend weeks out in the bush with these kits. I am not going to trap game with my wire snares even though i know how to, food will not be an issue for a long while. The anxiety of being lost and alone will overide any feeling of needing food. If you do start trapping dont forget a whopping big stick to beat the shit out of anything you catch in your snare. In most cases you will need to beat the shit out of whatever you catch as it will probably be only partially trapped and you need to end its suffering. This is the reality of trapping, It's not pleasant. I want to be rescued, I want to be seen. I dont want to live in the bush with this kit. I want the means to light a signal fire and keep warm. I want to be able to collect water and purify it so i dont shit my pants and dehydrate, Take your "survival "kit out overnight and try it out. You'll be surprised about what you dont need. IMHO your kit should have nothing in it but the means to get you seen and get rescued, the rest is hollywood!!!!Also i need to stop writing this late at night with a skin full of wild turkey on the rocks. My apologies if i have offended anyone.

I never take offence to an honest and logical pitch. You are right. I think that survival kits can be a good idea, but like anything else, I would suggest spending a little more time on research and making one yourself. At least then you know what you have, and what you need. Everyone is going to have different situations. IE: I wouldn't have a survival kit in my glovebox of my car because I have a GBG in the boot which would sustain me for 3 days. I have been meaning to investigate the creation of a kit I keep on me at all times, but that's still a whiles away...

think the point of the kit is. Its in your bag. You're not with most of your gear. You're ok. You can get home.
You are travelling, your tour bus gets into shit, you need to get back to civilisation and you don't have most of your gear but a jacket and this in your pocket. You _will_ survive.
The point is, prepardness. Is this the kit you want to Bug Out with? probably not. If you have nothing else, would you rather have _at least_ this. Hell yeah.
I'm not for buying this because its a kit I could cobble for the same price locally. Maybe the saw might be replaced by a pen knife or I will add an additional led flash light but you get my drift. I guess this is to show peeps what can be done in an altoids tin.
No offense if I've done so...
just my 2cents.
