Hi guys, I have noticed that many here do not have bug out locations organised, or available to them. So I thought I would throw out a couple of ideas for everyone.
1/ Head inland, 1 tank of fuel worth of inland. 2/ Look for a farm, sheep, cattle, grain farms. 3/ Ask really nice for the farmer to let you use part of their shearing shed as shelter.
Couple of reasons for this. 1/ good supply of water. 2/ Isolated. 3/ Plenty food supply. sheep, cattle, roo's etc. 4/ They can always use free help. 5/ You might just learn something.
So head out of town, visit some farms, (not the ones that do farm stays), introduce yourself, ask if you can lend them labour for learning and bunker down location if disaster strikes. Trust me, they will be glad for help, company, and yes they will fully believe the city folk are that dumb to riot and wreck things. And if you do, make sure you can pay your own way, at least until the shtf.
Any other thoughts out there?

I will be heading for the Queensland outback if I have to bug out, I know the land there better as it's my old playground. When I was in high school I didn't want to get into a fight so I went bush, I spent almost a week up in the hills before coming back. As I had left the school I still had my school uniform on and the only other thing I had on me was a bumbag with a pocket knife, a box of matches, a mini sawing kit and a roll of dental floss. I know I can survive out there better then here in the NT, I find the NT is very hot and humid and I don't like that.

I am hoping it is in fact opsec. But some may have no where to go, so the idea I put forward.
As for me, I have family who have lots of properties in out of the way locations that I can use at any time. plus there is a great supply of food available.

Lets just say i know of a property that may or may not be owned by a family friend that may be around the 1100acre mark that again, may or may not back onto a few hundred thousand ares of state forest.
This land just may have a river that could possibly be good for trout and/or bass.
The owners which i may or may not actually know might in fact run cattle to which at any given time have possibly around 200 head. If infact they actually have cattle. These said cattle may also be the social type of cattle and hang out at times with what could or could not be 200odd sheep.
But to answer the question *speaks into mic* Whats a bug out location?

I know of a place I could use down South but I need to get there 1st, the owner has 2 blocks of land, he lives on 1 with his family and the other right now is vaccent. It has a house on it but it's set up as off the grid with comfits, it has some feral livestock on it that can be used too as well as a good flowing creek. I'll proberly head there and if not then I'll just head bush, ether way I will be headed down that way unless I decide to go to sea.

Good idea mate, but just a thought, many people will have a full tank of fuel, so, I'd have 2-3 jerry cans full of fuel too, just to get that little bit further. But, also realise, not everyone is in the same starting position, so you may be too late getting there, or going head to head with 'locals'. Just being the devil's advocate!!!

You are absolutely right Jay! But if you never start planning, it is too late when you have to put a plan in place. everyone has to start where they are, and hopefully if it does turn to potty mix, maybe just maybe, someone will lend a helping hand.
After all, that is why we are all here, is it not?
2-3 jerry cans, boy you are traveling light aren't you? I would not think of moving without at least 100 litres extra. plus extra water.
Also, we should be watching always, that way, if it does go down, we can hopefully get out before the zombies make it to your location, it will always radiate outwards, inner city, inner suburbs, outer suburbs, far out suburbs, etc. drive hard, have multiple routes out of town, learn to read maps, and always have multiple backup plans, and hey you never know, you just gave yourself a 100% better chance of survival than if you just thought, yeah, the gubmant will look after me, cause I is useless wifout the gubmant to do everyfing for me, duh. LOL humour ark ark.

Me to. all my family live in inner suburban flats and they raise budgies on the patio. and the rest live under the story bridge in last months latest cardboard boxes, latest fashion I tells ya, great insulation, and the views, boy you could pay a million for them thar views.
1,100 acres, that might or might not, possibly be or not be, about the size if in fact they actually didn't live in the inner suburbs about the size of the house paddock, if in fact they actually had one of course.
But back to the thought of my post, go out, meet some farmers, learn some skills, help out our poor struggling men and women on the land, Lord knows they could use help, and if it does turn potty mix, you might just have somewhere to escape to. After all, how many of us have close family who are all farmers.

Mine aren't even close, we fight like we're at war with each other and we only ever get on when where apart, far far apart. I fact if it came down to who would survive many of my family wouldn't hesitate to kill me and mine to save their own hides. My younger sister gave up on her own son so she could stay in the house she was living in with her ex, I will always choose my kids and their safety 1st. If I see safety in being with a group I'll stay with them, if not I'll take my kids and go my own way.

I'm sort of lucky where I live as far as a little head start, I'm 200km from the nearest major city (Mackay) But of the majority of people in this town are bogans (just to show my mate's nephews and nieces are named: Link, Blaze, Chevvy(girl)and Diesel lol) So they will be too busy at the pub getting blind to see anything coming lol and within an hours drive I have plenty of state forest to hide away in with plentiful roo's and cattle nearby, as well as massive farms between here and there and beyond. Plus also if everything did really go belly up, I can swing by my mine and jack a ute from there and a fuel trailer to go with so I could travel for ages on it

In my last Cruiser I had dual tanks and 8 jerry cans. Beat that Mind you with that old gas guzzler I could barely make it between towns even with all that. Refuelling out in the Diamantina.

I know you people have thought about going to friends farms, or asking a 'nice farmer' trust me they won't take you unless you have skills to offer them. Im telling you from some personal experience, don't just rock up on their door if you can avoid it. Try to plan an agreement first, otherwise own your own!
Good luck to everyone with this, very hard to decide and takes a lot of research and care. Also do yourselves a favour if your looking at bugging out to a farm, water is key.
Check list for location -rainfall -water storage, dams, rivers or creeks -soil types(what grows best) -salinity -pest issues - privacy
hope gives some ideas to think about

I am looking at not moving. Here in paradise it is almost like we have bugged out already.
16km of water is a good fence.

I can imagine a couple of the farmers I know reacting to a stranger approaching like this. On a good day they'd give a warning shot.
