Some interesting little units amongst them. I do like the first one.....dual purpose.... Agreed, and what makes it more useful is that it can run off solar too - that's what got my interest going. Will try to have a go making one soon.

The part you cannot run of solar is the ice. How many kw/hours will your freezer use making that ice? how effective will the cooling be as opposed to how many kw/hours for a std air conditioner and how effective it works.
Just saying that unless your ice is very cheap or free, or of course unless you just don't have an air conditioner, then for about $50 bucks you could have this setup going.
