Another article too... businessnow.theaustralian.com.au/2014/11/18/chocolate-rivers-could-soon-run-dry/Here’s your excuse to buy as much chocolate as you can carry – it could be about to become rare and expensive. According to a report from Bloomberg, the amount of cocoa the world can produce is set to fall well behind the amount people are eating. Mars Inc., the world’s biggest chocolate maker, says the gap will reach 1 million tons next year and the will widen to 2 million tons by 2030. From 1993 to 2007 the price of cocoa averaged $US1465 per ton. The price rose 87 per cent in the six years between then and now and it looks like it will keep climbing. So there you have it, we should all start growing cocoa – both to secure our own stash and make some sweet cash."

The shortage of cocoa for chocolate is probably from the increase in demand for the cocoa to be used in cocaine around the world

It's been coming for years, also coffee. Now look at the issues internationally, Ebola in Africa is a good point as cacao and coffee both come from that region, not exclusively but still.

I love both coffee and chocolate, but no great loss if I can't get either. In fact last week I stopped buying chocolate as I was eating too much.

I will miss coffee, but so long as tea is in good supply I am happy. Now I may need to move in with one of you if the Mrs can't get Cacao anymore, I am NOT! dealing with that.

... last week I stopped buying chocolate as I was eating too much. Bugger me, the missus went shopping today and I just realised she bought 6 packs of dark chocolate, what can I say, I don't want to offend her so I'll have to go halves in it eh? I'll give up next week.

My gf has a sweet tooth... infact all of her teeth must be sweet teeth cause she can go through chocolate and any dessert at the speed of light.
I might need to prep a 1-2 ton cache of chocolate....

I am can ride out a temporary coffee shortage with aldi capsules. Sorry to any coffee snobs but my son and I did a taste test with all aldi pods back before they brought out the super strong ones. We did a round robin elimination and came up with 2 we both agreed on. I rotate by using one strength and buying the other until I swap over thereby using all. I have tins of illy in case of grid down. Boss does not drink coffee so it is all mine!!! 37 cents a capsule and I use two per coffee and have 4 a day at the moment. Less than buying one $3 cup in cost.
