Read about this the other day and was thinking its pretty odd/spooky. Who really knows what is going on up there? The US just had their unmanned shuttle land after a 18months+ orbiting the earth. New type of arms race? Space race?

Given how we fought wars 100 years ago and how far that has developed it is only a matter of time before it evolves into space, not like star ships in dog fights but like this article suggests, satellites reaping havoc on communications networks or deploying EMP weapons.
