Hey Guys,
Just wanted to put it out there to find out who is going to the shot expo in a couple of weeks in Perth, as well as who has been to some of the ones over east before and what can we expect?
I am very excited as this is the first expo of this kind to come to Perth as far as I am aware and the spread of companies in the exhibitioners list is very very bad for my wallet!

I will be there with bells on. I'll be going on the Sunday.
Unfortunately I don't have a firearms licence, but I'm hoping to get some other goodies and some good information.

Okay, hypothetical scenario:
You have $1,500 cash to spend at the Shot expo, but don't have a firearm licence (remembering that WA is the EROL state).
Go.

Depends if you are planning on getting a firearm in the future Mr Pete. If you know what firearm you will be purchasing in the future, have a look at scopes, gun bags, slings etc. Otherwise maybe torches/spotlights, 4wd or camping gear, clothing

I was thinking along those lines. In the new year I have to spend some serious time around firearms - my knowledge at present is such that I wouldn't understand much of what I'm looking at.
I'm thinking some archery gear could be the go...

Archery is great. Cheap and can be practiced any where. I like instinctive archery as it is closer to primitive and is able to be replicated in a genuine shtf. Like throwing stones the more you practise.....

I was tempted to run the idea past Mrs Pete first, but then I remembered the motto of our marriage: "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission".
Wish me luck.

Went to the expo today. Had an absolute blast. I bought quite a bit and ill post up some photos tomorrow.
In short I grabbed 2 bucket of bullets. 1 slab of 12ga. A new ammo bag. Some eae muffs for the kids. A couple of new knives. 2 gun bags and probably some other stuff I forgot.
All in all a great day.

I went this morning. Great expo - heaps of good stuff.
I got some decent information about getting started in shooting & archery, as well as getting an overview of what type of money is involved.
What no-one could tell me, however, is why Beretta have a double barrel shotgun for over $15,000. Very pretty indeed - and I'm sure it's a quality firearm, but I'd love to know if it's actually worth it. Another one for the Lotto Dream List...
