Nice kit throwingbrick, Do you carry anything to boil your water in or do you just use tablets for purification. If you throw a life straw in you would be able to drink out of you stream in the pic.

I got mine from BCF, Boating Fishing and Camping store. I think they were about the $25 mark. I got a few of them, 2 in my bag 2 in the wifes, I in the glovebox of the car. Also If you have the Australia Day Catalogue for BCF my family and car are on the front page picture.

I recently got some from Survival Storehouse - another forum supporter. I grabbed a family one, four of the bottles plus one standard Lifestraw.

I would think that a stainless steel bottle like the klean Kanteen would be good for a bob or GHB.
You can use the bottle to store 1L of water and if you're not sure about the cleanliness, use the lifestraw to drink it.
I have 1 Klean Kanteen and 2 Lifestraws at the moment, will prolly get one more bottle soon.

I use the sawyer mini water filter. I dig it, its good. + 1 for the Sawyer Okay so i have mine in a 5.11 rush 24 backpack, but i feel its on the heavy side. I have a fair bit of gear. Shelter and weight saving is i can leave the 2 man tent behind, it just depends on who I'm going with and where we are going. Noticeably heavy items are my nalgene bottle and water bladder full, as well as the crkt tomahawk and the biolite camp stove. A few things i have missed here in my load out, e.g. passport, cash, silver, pens and duct tape and freeze dry meals. I am a bit more of hiker so often i take from this kit and use gear as i need Haha. in the big zip lock bag there is Plastic zip lock bag • 1x extra large • 1x large • 2x medium • 4x small • Zip ties various sizes (20 approx.) • Rubber bands • 2x Super glue • Note pad and pen • CRKT eat tool • 10x water purification tablets (1 tablet per 1 litre of water) • Rain poncho • 2x Large clear plastic sheet • 1x emergency blanket • 1x mosquito head net . • Lighter • Waterproof matches • Ferro rod (flint) • Toothbrush • Toothpaste • Dental floss • Alcohol 65% sanitizer • Anti bacterial soap • Lip balm Any suggestions on weight saving? So wet weight of the kit without the tent and full water and food is 11.5kg approx

lol Ammo9the trick is multi-use. for example. One bottle/Can Opener + 1 Knife. Supplemented with a Ninja Wallet type survival card. Not much heavier, but you have 2. Flashlights can be chosen by its size and battery use. You can carry a LED Maglight which doubles as a weapon etc etc be creative. A prepper's greatest weapon is his imagination.
