Mrs Pete was just speaking with her uncle who is kind enough to sign the permission form for shooting on his farm. Apparently it is now illegal to shoot kangaroos in WA unless the shooter has a special licence.
Has this insanity reached the rest of Australia, or is this just WA safeguarding its claim as the EROL state? It's not as if the buggers are endangered...
I am both confused and thoroughly p***ed off at this.

If shooting for meat/skin purposes, you need tags and to do a commercial harvesting training course and spend big bikkies on setting a Ute set up to food safety standards for dressing and carrying meat. on the other hand, if your properties have roos listed on their "pest mitigation plan" then happy hunting.
This is in qld at least.
