Being out bush for 2 weeks at a time ( yes, chocco camps) with minimal water and a sharp razor, you can have a fairly decent shave. For a longer time, I can't comment, but, you do feel better after a shave. I'd be having a shave on a regular basis. That's just my opinion as a bloke!

I've never waxed my underarms, how is it with duct tape? I've always shaved, but if DT is quicker, I'm all for trying it lol

I've never waxed my underarms, how is it with duct tape? I've always shaved, but if DT is quicker, I'm all for trying it lol Waxing is a little for a second or two and duct tape gives exactly the same sensation! DT is so much quicker, less fuss and bother than stuffing around with hot wax (heating it, mixing it, heating it again, spreading it on and pressing down cotton strips and then ripping them off) and it does a great job. The longer the hair, the better the DT "grips". I have been waxing for years and I feel "grotty" if I'm hairy so it is a "morale" thing for me. I've probably got close to a year's worth of hair removal equipment now (one roll of DT should cover that time frame ). Try a small section of tape on your leg and see what you think, if you've never waxed before you may not like it. Smooth it down in the direction of the hair growth and then pull up from the bottom but keep the tape close to your skin for the best result.

I'm devastated.......I've discovered that duct tape won't work on removing really short hair I was messing about and thought that if I put mascara on the hair on my forearms then they would show up in a photo so I got busy with the mascara brush and then whacked on the DT.....well most of the mascara came off but the hairs (actually peach fuzz) remained, so I thought that I would try with no mascara on and got the same result - my arm hairs aren't long enough for the duct tape to grab and I suspect that I'm going to have to go "wild and hairy" in order to be able to use duct tape on my legs again (my legs and underarms are still smooth though). I'm going to have a bash at the sugar hair removal method when I actually do see leg hair again......

I've seriously thought about laser hair removal, but when I found out about it not being permanent, and the risks involved, I thought bugger off. Not to mention the cost involved. Sigh. I'm going to go wookie when SHTF

I wouldn't want to be the only person in town who's shaved post-crunch. It wouldn't help me blend in if everyone else has grown facial hair while my face is clean shaven, just like being the only person around who hasn't lost weight would be viewed with suspicion.
I think that disposable razors may potentially be a valuable trading item, though.
I'd use a cutthroat. It'll last for years with regular honing and doubles as a generic sharp blade. Gotta love a multi-tasker.

This is a review of a hair removal gel available on Amazon. I wouldn't recommend it, I certainly wouldn't keep it as a prep, but it really is one of the great reviews of all time: www.amazon.com/review/R2QP56S5P2DEGA
