"TEOTWAWKI The End of the World as we Know It is used to describe a major global disaster that society has no immediate recovery"
There's a funny thing - I've always viewed TEOTWAWKI as referring to a local issue as well as global. If the grid went down locally for a week or two, it would certainly be the end of the world for many people (esp. sheeple). I'm guessing that the difficulty in such situations would be that losing the grid would potentially affect most communications, and we could never be certain of the local or global nature of the situation.
It truly can hurt the brain to think about it.
