This map indicates where snow will fall over this weekend (the purple bits). It is expected that the snow could reach up into Queensland. It is predicted to be the coldest weather in 15 years. As Preppers we know what we need to do to avoid going out in these types of weather patterns. Some tips: Make sure the car is full of fuel Make sure your phones are charged and you have ways of recharging them if you loose power Make sure you have an alternate heat source if you loose power to boil water, heat food Extra staples like bread and milk, bottled water (and toilet paper) Is your gas cylinder full? Invest in a couple of hot water bottles Make sure there is plenty of food that can be cooked without needing lots of preparation or better still, prepare meals beforehand Make sure your pets have plenty of food Make sure all torches have extra batteries Make sure you get any medications before the weekend Organise extra bedding now for each bed Surprise the kids with a 'new' board game (you can pick up good 2nd hand ones at the Salvos or Vinnies) and some treats for a night in If you need to go out in the car, make sure you have food, water, extra warm clothes and let people know when and where you are going (don't change the route you told people) and what time you are expected. You're an inspiration on this board frostbite. We have gleened lots of great ideas from you and Hubby just loves your 'home away from home'. BTW Aldi have headlight torches for $5. We bought a few - just never know.

That's what I love about the prepper community - we all seem to realise that there's no such thing as a free ride.

Worst thing is I gotta work tonight at midnight catching chickens on multiple farms, can't even take my own car with my kit in it . Really hope I don't get stuck at stroud buladelah or mangrove mountain tonight. Cheers for the heads up though Matilda

I don't think it was as bad as what they predicted newcastleprepper and Illawarra Stormchasers were stating that last night - but Orange had a good dumping as my SIL's family posted some pics to us. Just beautiful. Still very cold if you need to be out in it. Sounds like you need some thermal undergarments that the skiers wear! And a good warm beanie!! Stay warm!

I always wear my ski jacket but it's warm in the chicken sheds I spose 6000 chickens make a lot of body warmth, I start at midnight and probably won't finish till midday tomorow. But on the plus side I'm meeting a lot of farmers who I have been asking about hunting in there areas soon I might be able to ask if I can hunt on there properties wich will be awesome

I mentioned yesterday that the cold weather warning we received yesterday had a lot of 'panic' to it. Today Stephen (from Illawarra StormChasers) stated just that. Have you noticed how the nightly weather is often told 'breathlessly' that its the 'hottest day in 2 years' or the biggest rainfall since last summer? This is often accompanied by words that really are over the top. Have a read of what Stephen as to say in a few of the reports. www.facebook.com/IllawarraStormchasers I agree with him 100% ad find this is a targeted agenda for those pushing 'climate change'.
