Something for a Sunday arvo..... Which would prefer to deal with: Zombie Apocalypse (the Walking Dead type scenario) or Alien Invasion (Independence Day etc) or Monsters (like Godzilla, Pacific Rim) ??

It doesn't matter because the government would deal with it.
But seriously...
Zombies - there'd be too many of them and we'd be exhausted and killed very, very quickly.
Aliens - their technology would be a threat. We wouldn't know how to eliminate that threat, or hide from their scans, etc.
Monsters - without having seen Pacific Rim, I assume big monsters would be fairly slow, their size makes them easy to hide from, they probably wouldn't consider us to be worth eating, etc. Although if you got in their way, things probably wouldn't go well for you.
I'll stick with the monsters for now.

Probably zombies... I don't have the training or equipment to handle aliens or those huge monsters and I've no confidence in our defence force being able to handle them either. At least zombies I stand a chance

Walking Dead zombies, they were slow and easily killed.

Zombies so long as they're slow, team up with survivors, form groups with spears and shields, make a dry moat around your camp using a frount end loader, then add layers of defense of similar. Need no bullets for Z, spears give you reach and most of the time you'll be sticking spears in the heads of the zombies in the holes anyhow, very easy and safe. Having bullets for humans might be necessary. You could easily clear out large areas making them safe, grow crops, get on with living.
Aliens? The only thing I could see that you could survive such a thing is to be like a mouse, living in a hole and staying out of sight. I would imagine that they'd have amazing vision devices and laser beams that could vaporize you from orbit, so you'd probably die in such a place.
Monsters. ...

I saw pacific rim and we have no hope. Aliens again.if they want they will have. Zombies at least I see a chance, with all I have learned from the movies. Dimes from the over under. Katana, bow, bulbar, nice bit of oak. Got it covered. Plus they move even slower than me

For the zombie folks.....how about if it was switched to running zombies (World War Z, new Dawn of the Dead type)??
My choice would be zombies and still zombies if they were runners. Harder to contain then the walkers but I reckon still better then dealing with superior tech from aliens...

My choice of zombies stands, Aliens and Monsters are just too far outta my league. Probably still only last less than an hour to zombies but longer than the other two

Zombie I think although if you look around at people looking at their smart phones wandering around with headphones in I think the invasion has started.

Aliens, we would likely be very technologically inferior and very dead. Monsters like those, how do we stop those again? Plus large scale destruction, even if they don't kill you they destroy all the infrastructure and food. Zombies, sure large numbers but they are slow and dumb plus they can be easily stopped with a round to the head.
The world war Z zombies would be far less survivable, those things were fast and inhumanly strong but still a better option then the others IMO.

All of the above are woosy answers!
Ya wanna know why we don't see aliens. Cos they are shit scared of us. They have probably thought about wiping us out but are worried that if they don't get us all the ones that are left will f*** them up. Historically if you piss Aussies off, you don't come out of it well. The Poms have centuries of experience in kicking arse, the Russians aren't known for being subtle and the Yanks roll over everything with numbers. That's only some of us. ET wanted to go home cos he was stressed out from being surrounded by killers. Monsters, Bring 'em on. The bigger the better. Easier targets then. Zombies. No problem. They died once, we can do it again.
We have had it so good for so long everyone is forgetting how well we do when the situation gets bad. We panic because an easily avoided disease that kills .01% of the people who get it shows up. Seriously? Bring it on, you zombie alien monsters. It won't be fun for us but you'll regret it, you won't get a second chance!

Zombies for me - taking well aimed head shots just makes me happy!!!
Aliens & monsters will end up in a wet market somewhere in China.

Monsters. They always go for trendy cities close to the coast. I can sit back and watch it.

Lol, I started reading this from the top thinking about what I would write and then I read my post from 5 years ago and it was pretty much exactly what I was thinking just now. Given I've had 5 more years, I'm still screwed for Aliens and Monsters but Zombies, lets play

Haha I joined to late to see the first pass of this. Definitely agree with zombies though. Independence Day / Pacific Rim type stuff is way out of our league, that's uncontrolled destruction.
Walking Dead zombies though... honestly I could not see how they would not be stopped by government military after a while.

Zombies. My kids bought me a box set of The Walking Dead years ago. Told me it was about half the US population turn into zombies. I said too easy, the other half fire once, problem solved, show ends in 30 seconds. Still haven't watched it.

Zombie's will be those who cant get their drug fix and will become the living dead, going through withdrawal with no help or medication. Very dangerous. Aliens, we probably dont have a chance against their technology anyway, and monsters will surcome to a dose of lead.
Message received...available ship standing by...Alien to McCoy....
Dalek cheerleaders.....2,4,6,8 who will we exterminate ?
