Having struggled with a slow WIFI connection at home (due to the PC being a couple of rooms away from the modem), I just installed one of these: www.tp-link.com.au/products/details/cat-18_TL-PA411KIT.htmlIt uses the house electrical cables to conduct the signal between the two units, which are in turn connected to the PC and modem respectively. I've noticed a dramatic and immediate increase in connection speed, so now I can waste time online much faster.

Thanks for the tip Pete. I have the same problem, but never heard of these before. Will get online and see if I can get a pair asap (lack of wifi in many rooms is driving me up the wall).

just an FYI, those only work well if they are on the same circuit, having them on different circuits can cause issues and if they are on a circuit that has a device with a motor (fridge, freezer AC) they also can cut in and out when the motor starts.
Not a big deal but worth knowing

Cheers thereth. The one in my study shares a double adaptor with the fridge (yes, I have a fridge in my study). I need some other electrical work done at some point, so if it's a drama I can get some new cables run.
