Congratulations!!!
You've got the go ahead from your (husband/wife/girl-boy friend/'civil partner' or otherwise significant other who has some say over your finances!!!
They've agreed to let you stock 20 years of food! But because they want to reduce cost and they don't expect to ever have to eat it, they've arbitrarily limited you to choosing one breakfast, once lunch and one dinner for those 20 years.
What do you choose?
Please pick foods that would, stored correctly, last at least 20 years. And would provide you a balanced and sufficient nutritional intake without farming or hunting. Refrigeration is out. Cooking is in.
Honestly I'm not sure what I'd pick... and I'm not 100% on what would last 20 years (I'm writing this after 4 rums (me size rums not standard rums))
I'm thinking maybe:
Breakfast: oats with honey and milk powder and instant coffee(will milk powder last 20 years if repackaged?)
Lunch: canned stew and instant noodles (no idea on expiry of mi goreng or similar, canned stews should be fine for at least 10 years)
Dinner: rice with canned tuna and canned veges
Thought behind rice for dinner and not lunch is quicker to make instant noodles than rice so waste less daylight.
Hopefully can have a few people eating at once and mix in several different cans of veges into dinner pot.
Problem would be a lot of salt intake. With all the canned foods and noodles. You'd need plenty of water to balance it out.
Alternatively I was thinking some sort of bread only for lunch. Flour, sugar, little salt and mix it up and bake every couple days into a thick bread type food. Bot great but can carry with you and eat with no prep depending on tasks for the day it might be better
