This is an interesting idea, if you can get past how boring the video is. Basically he makes pasta & sauce, dehydrates it all as meal servings, then re-hydrates it while camping. This is something I'll probably try next time I make a big batch of pasta.

I keep meaning to do that myself. I would imagine that you'd want to keep your fat levels low [you can cook and drain the fat from the meat pretty easily] if you're looking at longer term storage. Will have to get some of those mesh discs.

I've grabbed stuff like that from ozfarmer in the past. Depends on the dehydrator you have I guess...

Yeah been looking it up and after I borked at the price, it seems you can make your own from 'plastic canvas', which it turns out is used in crochet. Spotlight have it at $5 ea, though I'm sure if you look around [riot art supplies?] and HERE it'll turn up cheaper as the people in the US pay something like $3 for 10.
