Whilst the past few months have been great for Ausprep, 2014 is just around the corner and we want to take this place to the next level.
This is where you come in.
Id like to hear any ideas, suggestions and feedback so we can make this place #1 in Aussie preparedness!

I was thinking an online magazine would be cool and maybe down the track hard copies. Def would love to contribute when and where I can.

I reckon we need to spread the word to attract more members to the site - let people you know about the site, and encourage them to sign up - I'm thinking friends and groups on Facebook, people you speak to in person, friends on other forums and websites, via links on other prepping websites etc.
The more we can spread the word the better to build a strong community with lots of diverse skills and knowledge.

id like to see a page where members are placed geographically- so I know who else is in QLD and then we can set up AUSPREP 'Chapters/companies' (whatever you want to call it) based on state. may be a good way to unite and form 'real' groups? I know id like to get more serious this year about getting a group together, and this would help? just a thought Nerd

Newsletter emailed to all mbrs-with contributions from current mbrs?? In regards to the newsletter I would suggest that a blog page (with a selection of authors) would be a better option than a newsletter per se. A newsletter would require considerable structure, formatting, strict time frames etc. etc. Which with an online community may be hard to implement. Also a blog would open to the public so may "recruit" more members. Not sure how this site is set up (the back end) but most blog sites (such as Wordpress) will connect in to existing websites. They are also free. Could also embed videos into blog pages. We could even set up a YouTube channel where members can post "lessons" (I was reading in the 'Meetup suggestion' board about how to share skills etc. And a YouTube channel could be an option ... as geographically not the easiest to organise physical meetups.

A challenge for the month section would be good! I like this idea. For ideas you could have a thread where members can make suggestions (that way an individual doesn't have to come up with the challenge by themselves). Would there be "rewards"??

I think a suburb (or nearest major city/town) would be an appropriate level of geographic location. Or you may simply want to say something like 'northern suburbs of Sydney' (where I grew up)?? Thoughts??

more as quick reference, as each update is enough for discussion, eg. on the political front, the treaty between Ukraine and the USA to ensure "sovereignty" effects Australia, with the anzus treaty (not worth the ink used) military wise the abandoning of bases is one, but the build up of Poland, and token usaf reinforcements, the German army mobilisation, the British reinforcements in Germany, and the build up of forces in Russia at the Ukraine boarder, all separate issues on their own, yet all linked to this conflict that some are following, and arguably (rightfully) the same course of events that started ww1... was a suggestion

Do we have a page that mentions businesses we buy from. ( I live in Nth Qld and have a few Disposal stores not far away from my loc and plenty of camping stores as well, yet I found a good place in W.A. that was excellent to deal with and they are helpful as well. Postage is extremely reasonable).
That's were I get my replacement gear when needed now - I just email em - they email me back and I send a cheque. Gear arrives. Simple!!!
