For the senate I went Shooters Fishers. Last election I voted Liberal, but I have no time for them since Turncoat knifed Abbott.

Democracy with mandatory voting is doomed to failure because stupid people have the same say as intelligent people.
Think of the "average person" and how smart they are.
Half the people are dumber than that.
All of them get a say.
I'd vote for a party that made voting optional and had liberal firearm policies because they obviously aren't planning on going around pissing people off

I noticed on the ballot form (for the senate) that any donkey voters (ie those that will number 1-6 in order) will end up favouring the left. That's the result of compulsory voting.

Last election I voted for the Nationals, having done so since i could vote!
This election, voting either Fishing, Shooters & Farmers party, or ALA. It depends on the policies they have ( still trudging through them all ).
I have no faith in the Coalition anymore - I voted for Abbott, not Turnbull. The Nats have sold out their souls and have abandoned the rural sector.
I just hope the Greens are voted out into oblivion!!

No option for 'no'. The level of immorality is high, I certainly don't want any of them sticking guns at me.

I'd vote for a party that made voting optional and had liberal firearm policies because they obviously aren't planning on going around pissing people off I partially agree. But it is not really the fault of compulsory voting. Idiots always want to have their say, so it forces the people who know how little it matters to vote as well. So we maintain the average of stupidity. If we leave it to the individual to choose to vote then only people with a strong opinions vote (not necessarily informed) and more relaxed middle of the road people may not stick their head up until it is to late, as may occur in USA. mind you compulsory voting in a democracy is a bit like fighting for peace. watching the adds on Tele and we only have a choice of some bloke called 'surname' anyway 😜
