I actually watched the full movie after seeing scenes of it in "Iron Sky" Good entertainment too and I believe it was the frist time Chaplin spoke in a movie. They actually sent a copy to Hilter (who was a fan of Chaplin until then)... that would have pissed him off  Again, we can split atoms but don't know how to be nice to one another.... keep prepping |

Yeah I think it is something I will be watching today! Apparently Charlie had to leave the USA because of his political views! Sounds to me like he was a bit of a Libertarian.

I think the movie was shot before ww2 officially broke out, Chaplin said he would probably have not done the movie had he known about how bad it really was in Germany then

Europeans/Anglo have a pathological disorder, they are 'kind' to those who treat them badly. This works well when the other party is also kind, for you share ideas, you trade with one another, you build bonds and intellect. It's immoral to continue to treat those well who spit in your eye. I'm not a religious person though the phrase 'Do unto others that they do to you' is a pass card and sure it could be taken as violence though it can also be taken as a withdrawal of kindness, as then there's no need for hate, just let them try and survive the winter by themselves, instead of letting them take your seed crop for the spring. Europeans make this mistake probably because it's in our genes, we built modern civilization, time to just stop sharing our kindness to those who don't want to be part of it and all the greatness it brings. This will bring great peace I believe, for it brings peace to the individual, I have seen it hundreds of times in my capacity in helping people, I can't see how it would be much different on a greater scale. Lets be kind to our 'own' children by giving them a good future.
