Yeah it's interesting. I'm more comfortable with 7% that is owned by UK investors than the 1% owned by Chinese investors though

A Chinese company owns a US company that owns an Australian farm and the report says that farm is owned by the US...
If it's not a lie it's only a half truth. Nothing is clear cut these days

Is the owner chinese investors or the gobberment? Although I am not sure if there is a lot of difference The easy answer is that you never know, but, a lot of the big companies that have the financials or interest in buying overseas, are usually either government owned or connected in some way. Much the same as these Chinese donors to political parties - they complain that they are being treated as the enemy, yet, they won't come out anf demonstrate that they aren't in some way connected to the government. Actually, even if they aren't connected in any way, they often give the impression they are. Last year I saw the re-election materials for a Chinese councillor in one of the Perth local elections. The English version was the standard crap about her achievements (all in great English, whereas I couldn't understand her when she spoke it), but there was also a Chinese language version that showed her in selfies with John Howard and a bunch of other party elites. Would they know who she was if they saw her again? I doubt it, but as long as she could show those pics, she thought she had a good chance with the local Chinese voters.
