I read in news that it was an US M9 bayonet..... which is a pretty decent fighting knife, although a machete would have been better for less money. These are in a way just kids, its all about the "cool factor".
I actually hope the gun shops don't cop too much heat, unlike Vic, NSW knife/sword law is pretty relaxed so you can pretty much just walk in and buy stuff. In all fairness gun shop owners wouldn't (and shouldn't) have refused sale to them due to their appearances. They are 16 so they may purchase a knife/sword/bayonet for what legal reason they claimed....

Whilst the kid got caught before anything happened [thankfully] knives have defiantly been used. In terms of her knowledge, of course she knew, of course she didn't do anything, because that's the religion [see below] and she would have seen him as being more pious than herself.
1) “But that whoever would not seek the Lord ... should be put to death, whether young or old, man or woman.”
2) “As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help.”
3) “Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death.”
How could the mother reject what this kid has been told by the priest he has listened to?

To be fair, plenty of parents wouldn't dob their kids in, as they can't believe they would actually do anything bad.
Deluded I know, but I've seen it myself with people I went to school with. One kid I knew had most of his extended family in gaol for drug dealing and vioulent crime, yet his mum thought he was perfect, regardless of the fact that he used to regularly belt her, smash the house up, joryide in her car etc. I dunno what happened to her, but know he is now in gaol for meth smuggling.
Another teenager blew his parents back shed up, after which they threw him out, but then let him back home again even though he continued to grow dope and make explosives in the backyard. This continued until he was in his early twenties, yet they always let him stay with them and treated him like a king.

I was in my teen in the 90s and I have lost count on how many times I have used the phrase "I will f--king kill them" In front of my parents because school bullies, nasty teachers, shitty boss... etc apart from telling off for using the F word they did nothing and never reported me to the police. Teenagers just like to talk shit period. Many of them pretended to be in gang so nothing has changed. Look at the internet trolls how many ended up carrying the threats? But the reporter needed extra info to sell the story right? Same reason why they added the bayonet from gun shop bit. Makes no difference if they slash at me with a bayonet or a cheap meat cleaver, I will still bleed..... |
