I recently picked up some cards that have scenarios of various situations that might happen in a SHTF situation. I'll intro the game with an included scenario to give you an idea, and then perhaps we can come up with our own as we go along. Here's the game, check it out[SCENARIO 1] - from the gameIn a post-apocalyptic society, modern and technological work isn't needed. What do you think you could offer any community in exchange for food, water and shelter? There is already plenty of security and caretakers in these groups. What skill would you offer and why would they need it? This must be a skill you currently have.[SCENARIO 2] - made up The bad weather woke you up in the middle of the night and being hungry you made a snack and watched some TV. Suddenly the news reports talk about open hostilities between China and the US and it's very likely that the conflict is about to get very bad very quick. It's 4am and it will be a few hours before most people are awake, before everything gets crazy. What would you do from here.

Great post mate, and a great thought provoking game.
If you order it there are 2 options $14.95 for a US Only or $19.95 for International Only. I took the chance and ordered the US Only and it arrived safe and sound. Im assuming they just subsidise the US version for their fellow Americans as I cant see there being a difference in the cards themselves.

... and a great thought provoking game. Yeah it is. So I thought I'd attempt to encourage some 'keyboard commandoing' on here for the situations so that we may or learn from other people perspectives and experiences.

Scenario 2: Would stay up watching further updates, do a quick think of what i have or may still need, have an early breakfast then get to clothing stores and places like crazy clarks etc as soon as they open. The stuff we now import from China will be in these stores, would grab things like lighters and candles, batteries, toiletries etc etc. Should have most of this stored already but it helps to have more. Buy whatever clothing I could for little one in various sizes. Would avoid supermarkets as this is where most will head first. Hopefully I have enough food and water already stored. Would then head to chemist and see what I could get there (especially betadine liquid as this can be used to protect thyroid against radiation). Next hardware store to grab materials to make a basic bomb shelter! Try to get this all done in the first half of the day before others have had time to blink. Get home draw a breathe or two, eat something quick and get out in yard to start digging hole for bomb shelter! Haha While doing all this I would be praying lots! Now I am in a regional town so do not feel I would need to Bug out in case of Nuclear attack.

Scenario 1. Kill the entire security force bar one, then barter protection services for items needed.
I have just finished watching the Godfather. LoL
Scenario 2. Ring the entire family and stay up and watch for more updates while eating pancakes of course!

What would you do from here. #1 Teacher - children would still need an education although it would not be limited to the 3 R's. #2 I'd hook up my portable radio and keep an ear on developments at the same time Id load up the car with our supplies and head off to our BOL via the back roads before the masses woke up and started panicking.

1. Emotional stabilizer(something that most people don't contemplate yet can be a very serious issue for a group, individual and community)/problem solver/teacher-instructor/farmer/practical knowledge on how most things work and how to get them to work again. 2. Watch coverage whilst I wake up and get in touch with loved ones with the possibility of getting them to my location.
[SCENARIO 3] - What's up with the power? [made up] Power is out for a few hours, it's inconvenient but it happens from time to time. After doing a few things around the house you decide to go to the store to grab some things but your car won't start, more inconvenience. You grab your mobile phone to call but your phone is dead, going inside and the phone line is down. Weird since you know that phone lines have their own separate power system and backup. Talk about a bad day you think. You walk outside onto the street, not knowing what else to do and confused about what's going on. You see some neighbors and you call out is your phone dead? It is and they wonder why their generator isn't working too. What do you do next?

well it's definitely a emp scenario....
because I'm in a unit complex, already I'm in a bad spot, grab my bug in gear, a set of batteries, and see what electrical devices survived it
remove the battery from my car and the cabin light, see if bat is holding charge, hopefully the unit manager is home, give him a heads up
meanwhile, attempt to store any running water if possible (maybe enough pressure in lines to do so)
after a quick chat with the complex manager try and get a "instant community" going
ok next steep, I have extra clean water, I know I have some stockpiled food, store the cold stuff in eskies with ice... so that's extra food
organise a complex meeting with everyone still here (a lot I would bet bug out to family or stuck at work)
sort out next steep, hopefully (I mean HOPEFULLY) we can come to a common agreement
organise foot security patrols in the complex, and design a early warning system
so, recap, I have food, water, security, shelter, I should be ok for the first fee days...
oh I have some electronics in a make shift faraday cage (spelling out) so I should be able to search for conventional radio information, no guarantees, but it's a task....
after stressing over all of that, relax with a cold drink and start planning phase 2
