An interesting concept; basically a terrarium with gadgets added. I question how much food you'd grow in it, but it may help provide some supplementary nutrients. IF you have plenty of the growing trays...

Not sure why they're using white lights, perhaps for looks. If you want to be the most efficient with artifical light sources, red and blue LEDs are your best option. Since you need power, not going to be much use in SHTF, though you could just stick them outside and not use power
