I was thinking along these lines just the other day, we have a mum possum with a little one and I was worried about them, given that we have a large python in the house somewhere. I figured that it would be better for the python to get the babe because mum can have another but the babe will die anyway without its mum.

Nature ain't pretty, and it applies to use as well.
