Got an old tank looking a bit sad, has anyone had an old iron tank re-sealed or done it themselves?
Here's the poor girl;
Trying to work out if I bother repairing it or just cut it into garden bed rings and stick a poly tank there... Any thoughts?

You may be able to get a liner to put in there. I helped install a couple of massive water tanks 17 odd years ago and they had heavy duty plastic tarpey linings.

A new poly tank of about that size will cost you $1600. Not sure what lining the tank will cost or how much it will extend the life span of it.

Thanks ml8300... I'll ask around about the liners. I was thinking some sort of brush on product but that makes a lot of sense!
Yeah there is always that risk emma, put the cash into it for the liner and it still fails. That pic shows the bad side so I think it could be sorted with a bit of stop-rust or... as was my other thought just put in a new sheet in that spot, could probably get a rolled sheet pretty cheaply.
I do have another empty stand right next to it so I could probably do both.

Lol I think rust stop is a preventative rather than a cure once it's eaten it's way thru 😂😂 I think some of the liners are spray on.
