One word: Yes. Do I want more: Sort of. Her food storage is well out of balance in terms of RDI. Every other prep storage quantity page I've ever seen is the same too, with huge variations in amounts and none following close to what our bodies require. It's also worth noting that most of us don't eat on according to the RDI either. The linky's HERE for all of the details and the summary is as follows. Some approximates by weight for 366 days with RDI and 8700kj/day/person. Rice, Grains, Starches 40kg Beans / Meat / Protein 110kg Powdered milk/Cheese 12kg Sugars, Honey etc 6kg Fats and Oils 6l - keep in freezer Salt 1kg [keep more] Veggies - 100kg Fruits 65kg canned [haven't found better solution yet] Total Weight: 340kg Total Energy: 3183567kj Total Cost: $800 - based on some approximate costings and bulk goods will vary. Storage life: 2-30years. Beans, rice, beans, honey, sugar, salt having the most millage. You can use whatever you like with plenty of variety that fits within those groups though for myself I like really boring and really long lasting food that I don't have to rotate. I also have a couple of weeks worth of food I get when on special just in the pantry [saves money] as well as a veggie patch. My storage is mostly grains and beans as I followed similar pages on the web firstly, thinking that they actually knew what they were talking about. Now I'm currently working on bringing a balance to my stored items focusing on vegetables and fruit, as I type this I'm dehydrating some frozen veggies. In terms of how much, the actual figure I won't mention, but I'm right for at least a few months. My current plan is to also finish building a good sized hydroponics system [pee and ash as fertilizer if needed] to augment my food. Obviously it has benefits for everyday also. Better than in ground systems as I hate watering and it's far more efficient. It's even possible to run it with an airlift pump of only 5w so solar power for it is very doable and cheap enough to have redundancy.
