Wife keeps a cattle prod next to the bed, personally I think it is a gimmick. If one ad to hid the intruder in the face with the two prongs or eyes it might be a deterrent.

A couple Spyderco folders on the shelf A Esse 6 on a shelf near the door to this room A compound bow on the top shelf with arrows A draw full of knives approx 20. Folders, fixed b;ades and a tomahawk A pelican case full of Spydercos/ZT's approx 30 A pelican case with 8-10 Busse fixed blades A spear gun A hand spear A traditional English longbow and arrows Oh and the main handgun safe This is of course the man cave room.

Good for other intruders (spiders) after you have been 'bitten'.

Putting the little one to bed, so if I miss throwing the MacBook at their head my last resort in arms reach is a 3ft long My Little Pony. I can imagine the look of terror in their eyes now.

*deploys the lego caltrops*
My little pony in one hand, ikea chair in the other... charge at the intruder screaming "Friendship is magic!!!!"

My heavy pen with glass break tip and Fisher space ink insert (so that it writes in most conditions and less likely to leak). Car key with tip "worn" and pointy (still works).
My winter jacket can be taken off as defensive tools against knife attacks.
Coffee mug, computer screen and the chair I am sitting on.
Steel toe cap shoes, forget fancy kicks, go for the nuts/behind the knee, shin even.
In the car: leatherman and a trench shovel sharpened on one side.
I collect swords so there is one just about any conrner of my house except the bathroom where I keep a new mop handle (mop stored in cupboard just in case). Shinny pretty "fantasy" knife on display stand next to night stand (its actually 9260 spring steel plated to give it a toy like look). On top of my safe, there Is a small amount of ammo stored in the worst lockable case I could find so I could rip it open with ease (its ok in NsW), I think it would take 20s from the furthest corner of the house to a loaded 38 in hand.
And yeah, lots of insect sprays around the house
