Bought 1 can to try - wish we'd bought more. About $1.65 Not runny or watery, and, a LOT of ham pieces. Tasted great. Next trip to an Aldi, I see about 40 cans coming home with me.

Sounds good. Thanks for the review. Does it have a percentage on the can?? Last pea and ham soup I bought had nearly no ham in it, I looked on the side of the can and it said ham (1%)

It's not my favourite but I will grab one to try.
Did you try the steak/veg soup too? It's not as good as Campbell's stock pot ones but it's edible
The chicken/veg one I find flavourless though

I love the chicken and corn Aldi soup. I prefer it over the top brands at Coles/Woolworths.

I forget which thread had info about canned creamed rice, but here will do just as well.
I know we can buy canned rice pudding / creamed rice, and I know we can buy sachets of microwave rice. But has anyone ever seen canned savoury (ie not sweet) rice? The type of thing you'd serve with Asian dishes, for example. That would be a great prep for those who eat rice.

One thing I saw the other day that I'm yet to try is making 'instant rice'... basically cook it and dehydrate it to reduce cooking time when you need it.
Not sure how it affects the storage life though...
