Believe me frostbite - if "pure aryan blood" made you immune from the flu I'd never get it. Alas, I'm fighting the bastard off again. I think it has more to do with fresh air & exercise - two things I lack in my daily life... |

Vitamin D, I hardly ever get sick and like Frostbite never get the flu shot and just mild sniffles etc.

I know someone who swore by a shot of honey & lemon each morning, and honey & apple cider vinegar each night as the perfect preventative against colds & flu. Right up until the flu almost killed him.

The only time I remember getting the flu was when I had a shot for it through work. Until then it was only ever a runny nose for a few days. 1st and last time.
That was a few years ago and I've never had it since. I've been working/living with a few sick people of late and not even had a blocked nose this year.
Loads of people around that seem to have it though, I noticed several local aged care facilities in lock down due to outbreaks.

Yeah last year hubby was the only one who didnt get the flu shot at his work place they all got sick except for him!

Work gets us flu shots.
I've never had the flu though I get mild colds more often than I'd like, about 2-3 bouts of sniffles and coughing a year.

I go the flue shot this year and still got sick but is was mild compared to what I sometimes get. Some people don't do well with the flu shot.. Later I was told we were given the wrong strain. I have a retired NSW police officer he said it was mandatory for them to get a flue shot as they worked with people all day. The are now looking at making it mandatory for aged care workers as well. |
