I've seen a few videos about this, I'm seriously going to give it a try because I'm sick of buying footwear that cost $$$ and doesn't last.

I'd imagine that if you rip the upper from a boot, the sole should still be usable in a similar way. If it's not worn out, that is...

Yep, but don't hold your breath, there are a lot more pressing projects right now. I notice he sharpens his knife constantly. Yes I saw that, that knife must be bloody sharp and his arm strong 'cause it you've ever tried cutting a tyre it's damn hard work.
