Interesting article. Our family routinely drinks water that is a few years old out of a standard poly-tank. Reason being our drinking water tank catches overflow from a primary tank and it only fills with new rainwater when we specifically let it. This winter was the first time in three years that new water went into it.
Best thing about rainwater is its got a layer of sediment in the bottom of the tank consisting of dust and a bit of bird crap washed off the roofs. Thus it is full of microbes (good and bad) and the body gets fully used to dealing with it. Might be why my kids don't have allergies ... their immune systems have always had something external to fight with rather than fighting itself?
