In a statement, South Korea’s government announced that North Korea was willing to discuss denuclearization with the United States, and to put off any additional nuclear or missile testing while talks are underway.

Kim Jong Un seems to have gone into "survival mode". He can't even feed the army, which is wandering around seizing food from civilians (who have next to nothing anyway). Maybe this whole "house of cards" in North Korea is about to crash.

It's interesting - one minute he's playing the big bully, next minute, wants to be mates!

I first wondered how much pressure China is putting on him to talk. Maybe China fears Kim will lose power, and that if there was a coup, a pro western leader may emerge - then bingo - US & Allies right on the Chinese border.

Interesting situation.
