I have permanently moved the religion thread to the admin section. Enough is enough.
I have no problem with a difference in opinion or a healthy debate, Ive open stated my feelings for a forum that promotes freedom of speech, but it has passed the point of no return.
I have a great deal of respect for ALL the members here, regardless of there beliefs BUT This forum is a place ive worked hard on, i wont have it labelled or be labelled due to a clear difference in opinions.

Absolutely! You have to call it how how you see it.....no more , no less.
No matter what though Wayno, you're going to get the people who start name calling simply due to a difference in views, Especially on that topic mate. How to deal with it next time though? Was like that message a few weeks back reminding us of a poison that infects the coherency of the regular posting members.
I tried blocking so I'm not in the view of the thing....hope it's worked. I would not put up with someone spitting in my face person to person and I know that you would not either so why should we on here? And if so......how do I / you deal with that?

Wayne, having been admin for forums before (and believe me, hormonal women have nothing on this little argument lol), I would suggest that a set of forum rules be created. Like a code of conduct you'd have at a workplace with agreeing to abide by it a condition of membership to the forum. It might seem draconian or big-brotherish, but you could be legally liable if someone feels they are bullied here and, as owner/admin, you don't do anything about it, or have appropriate measures in place. It also lets members know what is expected from the start and what is considered 'crossing the line'.
On the board that I was admin for, prior to me starting, there was an instance of stalking, literally, personal details were obtained and the person being stalked had malicious phone calls etc. To protect yourself legally, and all members, I would strongly recommend a set of guidelines and also a documented process on how you will handle arguments that get out of hand, inappropriate posts (ie language, images, bullying tactic), what happens in a breach (and repeated breaches) (ie 1 day suspension from forum, total ban etc) and also ensure you are complying with Australia's Privacy Act 1988 and that your code of conduct/terms of use informs members of their obligations under that Act.
PM if you want some help - pretty sure I still have the doco we created, and as I'm a tech writer, I write that sort of stuff all the time, so happy to help out

would it be possible to re create the link, without allowing any comments?? I've been away for a while and didn't see/read the comments, but what would it be with a no comment link?? Just a thought!! If it really does create too much turmoil and division, then scrap this idea!!
