As per request in the “strawberries” thread, here is the recipe - edited - you can dehydrate any hummus made without oil - no added fat

That recipe is from the book “The Ultimate Dehydrator Cookbook” by Tammy Gangloff, Steven Gangloff and September Ferguson.
I have a couple of Dehydrator books and quite a few food storage books, and as far as Dehydrator recipes go, this is the book that always leaves me with recipes I want to try. It has a lot of unusual ideas. There are lots of recipes for using dehydrated ingredients as well as methods for dehydrating.
Some interesting recipes (that I haven’t yet tried): -strawberry sauce leather (that rehydrates to strawberry sauce) -vegetable stock powder -dehydrated tofu (in a chapter that includes lots of recipes for jerky) -veggie hash browns (in the camping food chapter) -dehydrated veggie burgers -crackers (various types) -banana rice cakes (that are rehydrated and fried for dessert or breakfast)
There’s also a recipe for diy yeast that’s like a sour starter but a bit different. You end up pouring off the solids and using the liquid in you loaves within 2 weeks.
While I generally like sharing recipes, I don’t believe it is fair to the author to share a lot of recipes from one book, so if these spark your interest I’d push you to buy a copy. As well as having lots of interesting recipes it’s a great reference for preparation, temperature, timing and storage for dehydrating almost anything.

How embarrassing... I have that book but I'd never even noticed this recipe. Thanks for sharing.

I thought you might have the book. I only noticed the recipe the other day when we were talking about dehydrating strawberries. And I hadn’t noticed the strawberry sauce leather recipe until that day too - that’s when I noticed all the interesting recipes.
I have “banana rice cakes” in the Dehydrator now and have bookmarked other recipes to try.

I tried dehydrating hummus a couple of weeks ago. I was going to make it according to the recipe above but ended up just using premade stuff from Harris Farm as I know it has no added fat (which is better for dehydrating AND for health) and tastes good, and I didn’t have much time to experiment.
It worked well. Dehydrated and rehydrated according to recipe above.
