Crazy living in that area at all considering the volcano has apparently been erupting fairly regularly for the past 30 years.
Kinda like those people who buy beachfront or riverside properties despite knowing that one decent sized storm will flood the area. Then again, people will just say that they buy on a flood plain because its all they can afford. No forethought that in a few years they may lose their house and all belongings if they can save a few dollars upfront.

Very high percentage of world population living in flood zones. globalfloodmap.org/AustraliaIt is near water and good soil. Why do councils in Australia allow people to build in flood zones is greedy and crazy. The people also know they live in a high risk area but take no precautions have no evacuation plan - no preparation for a very likely event, normalcy bias come into play.

On a motorbike? That must have cost a bit in fuel otherwise?
