I listen to/read a lot of material based on the USA and I’m forever hearing references to checking the Farmer’s Almanac for the local area for when to plant things for the coming season. I’m gathering it’s a prediction for conditions for that specific year rather than a generic planting guide.
Is is there an equivalent for Australia? All I seem to find are generic seasonal guides, which are fine, but with the seasons making up their own schedule regardless of the calendar lately, something a little more helpful would be....well....helpful.
(Home sick with the lurgy and trying to make it useful by at least learning something or locating resources)

Yep there is. Get a copy of Clive Blazey's book from Diggers. It's got a bit at the start that covers that kind of thing.

Do you keep your own rainfall and seasonal records for where you live? This helps in knowing when you are likely to get rain, and what sort of wether conditions to beware of at certain times of year, like frost.
