So since you've started to prep, what little habits have you taken on that before you wouldn't have done?
Mine is with toothpaste. I now make sure I get every last little bit of toothpaste out of the tube now. As before you would only get 80% of it out. I get cranky at the missus as she starts the new tube at that 80% mark and I continue to get at least another weeks worth of brushing out of that last little bit in the tube.

I do all those things! When I first hooked up with my wife, she couldn't understand why I would cut the edge off the "empty" toothpaste tube and keep using the leftovers for a few more days. She then met my parents and worked out its a family tradition (started by my grandparents who lived through the Depression and WW2) and were very thrifty.
I also always try to choose a seat in restaurant where I have my back to the wall and can see the door. Its always nice to know whats going on around me.

Carrying EDC everywhere. Tend to prepare more even on the smallest of trips.

Spotting edible ‘weeds’ randomly (and occasionally ‘rescuing’ them to plant in the veggie patch), frugality on steroids, EDC always and GHB in the car....thinking ‘could I do/build/make that myself cheaper/better/just to have the skill’ about a million times a day

1. Always reverse park where its legal to do so 2. Always park in highly visible locations where there is a lot of foot traffic and or cameras 3. Always do a drive by and park down the road from any house I am going to if I'm picking up an item I bought off gumtree or a site similar to that 4. Enjoy life because I will probably die from some dumb random luck like choking on a fish bone

But why do you park down the road?

Well its like this I drive pass the location then drive a little ways down the road and park in the direction I know is the quickest route out of the place Then I walk up to the house or whatever and pay for my new toaster from the 70's or whatever I am buying Its at this point if anything should go bad because the occupants have not seen where I have parked so its harder for them to block me route to my car
Now think for a second if you had to cut an run would you have enough time to unlock your vehicle enter it start it and drive away if you parked at their front door ?
Where as by parking down the street I can head off in any direction that's clear jump a couple of gardens and back track to my car if need be

Sounds like hard work. Maybe you could just keep a decommissioned frag grenade in your jacket pocket? If the heat gets hot ... do a show and tell and demand they pay you for your inconvenience. (I have no idea if decommissioned ordnance is legal to possess so best not leave it on the dashboard or in the console when you pull up to an RBT.)

1. Always reverse park where its legal to do so I did that for a while, until some moron parked in such a way as to block me in. Had I needed to get out in a hurry I would've had to push his car out of the way with the front of my car. The airbags probably would have activated. I now park front-in; there will be less damage to my car if I push some other thing out of the way with my towbar than with my front end.

I buy just a little more of the non perishable food that I like to eat, sometimes just a can of spam or tuna or soup, maybe some biltong and a packet of chips. Assuming good rotation, adding an extra item per week for a year will be good. I will still have a stash of baked beans but the extra stuff makes life a bit nicer.
Another habit is to visit a GP when I am just a little sick, I usually complaint so much that they end up giving my antibiotic script for my stash.

This is where applying a bit of common sense takes place overall though most of the mines and industrial sites I have worked at always had mandatory reverse parking as it reduced the incidents of people backing into things and in the real world that is very hand in most car parking complexes and handy if your battery dies your always nose out for a jumpstart
You are correct though if you're going to push something out of the way or ram it , its generally best to do it with the rear of the vehicle

Increased aerobic exercise with a bit less resistance training, Walk around the neighbourhood a few times a week (day or night) to see what is going on and get a feel for the different personalities and family situations, look for opportunities to talk and get to know neighbours. More fresh food from the veg patch. Watch my fuel gauge more - I would let my fuel tank go below empty prior to filling. Watch way to much YT, and read financial reports everyday, daily login to prepper sites!!!, watch more end of world or prepper type movies. More outdoor activities like fishing and hiking Give prepper type gifts for birthday, religious holidays etc... Look for specials in the supermarket like dried food, or bulk tins on special Keep more cash on hand for emergencies, pay for some items using cash so not so easily traced by the gov.
