im not sure where everyone stands on the line of thought that perhaps the governments are indeed treating us like cattle, and have decided to thin the herd (aka eugenics) but several recent happenings are starting to make it look like a real possibility. pieces like the link below, combined with the governments denial of the radioactive leakage spreading and affecting the oceans, monsanto suing farmers for their crops being contaminated (yes, here in aus no less, google steve marsh), the contamination of peopples water near mine fields and fracking sites (which the government is saying is safe to drink mind you - no water that smells like oil and/or is flammable is safe!), google buying several companies that make war robots, drones etc, like the bigdog project.... its all adding up to something quite dark indeed  monsantos bt cells kills embryo cells
gmo crops wiping out whole bee colonies
water contamination from fracking more common that the companies let on |

Unfortunately, governments and petroleum companies have always exerted efforts to cover the damage it is doing by promoting the "goodness" and "environmentally-friendliness" of Natural Gas. |

The only real danger we have of having people wiped out is if the Greens got federal power, We'd be all disarmed and the government would be free to do whatever the hell they want to the people. Also barry o'farrell banning protesting and freedom of speech is just ridiculous those issues are what we need to worry about right now.

by the way, ever notice that the mainstream media avoids many very real, very big issues like the plague? never assume its honest. they all answer to big bosses who have agendas, like in voting season, their veils become a little thinner. its all propoganda. and the half braindead masses are so spoonfed that they cant even think enough to say "wait, are we being told the truth in this?"
welcome to what it was like for germans under the reign of hitler. this sort of crap is how it started. media control is a big part of manipulating the masses to support whatever you want to do. and i mean it. look back through history, look at how the dictators always take control with a lot of delicacy, slowly tightening the rope, until suddenly they have you tied so tight there is no way out.

oh, and on the note of social contagion, it does indeed go both ways, people are under pressure from the time they are quite young to conform, to not ask questions. in that case, telling people to get some real information is not a contagion, but the cure.
