as was asked by shtf preparedness on fb, "What would you do if you found someone digging a hole for or stashing gear on your property? IMO I would check it out and make sure that's what it was 1st...Then what? Do you leave it? remove it? if you remove it do you tell them you did? They are obviously preppers.. so do you leave a note saying you have it or you left if for that reason? Leave it and hope they will join with you when they come for it? Leave it and hope you get to it first if needed? Call the cops and report a trespasser?" i thought this would be quite a good topic for us all to weigh in on, especially as theres no real reason for anyone to get their panties in a bunch, lol XD for me, if they set alarm bells ringing, or wanted to store weapons on my property, it would be a outright no. for food and survival type items, absolutely, and would offer to trade preserves with them if they ever wanted (could make a new ally, without letting on that you prep too) what does everyone else think?

well, it's trespassing, and I would check it out when they leave. If anything illegal, notify the authorities. If it's food/water etc, then, it's on my land, so it's mine!! I'd remove it, leave nothing behind, except a note saying that they are now in my telescopic sights of my .308 185g hollow point, and they better leave quick. Then I'd search my place to see if they have made any more caches. And I would re-evaluate my security measures.

If someone were digging holes on my property I'd be rather concerned and probably get the police involved. Obviously I could make an ally but when someone's doing something obviously illegal [trespassing] and burring something unknown [could be a body!] I think that their behavior has warranted a lack of trust.
Seeing my neighbor burring things in his own back yard is a completely different story however, I'd get into a good chat and let him convince me into the benefits of prepping, to ask him beginner questions and learn from him [to maintain Opsec ha ha] and spend time with them working towards common goals. Having a few neighbors of the same mind set would be an ultimate goal.

Carefully approach him/her, advise against what he/she was doing and leave it at that.
There is way to many "what ifs" in this one to think otherwise.
