my question is “how would i most like to live? under the power of China or the US?” I choose under the influence of the US any day just as i do now. I think 90% of the worlds population outside of China would choose the same. China doesn’t have rock music, free speech or muscle cars to win any hearts and minds. They won’ t dominate the world as a result.
They could cause a lot of trouble in the interim though and that is why i default to looking after me and mine the same as said above.

The Taiwanese may lose, but they have fine, well-trained and well-equipped armed forces. China will take heavy casualties.

True that rock music is not that popular in China, although I have a few friends who love the stuff from the sixties and seventies (Pink Floyd, Led Zep, The Doors etc). Again, not many muscle cars, but Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseraties etc are a dime a dozen in the city I live in. Free speech - nah, forget about that one.
