www.ebay.com/itm/AUTOGAS-LPG-BBQ-GAS-FILLING-ADAPTOR/132326249637?hash=item1ecf4254a5:g:qSQAAOSwGrFZiFk-Has anyone used these? I've been given a few 45kg LPG bottles, as well as a number of 4.5 & 9 kg bottles. The 45kg ones are the issue - can only do a swap, which costs about $120, plus $36 a year rent. It was suggested I get an adaptor. My question is, are they any good, are they safe to use ( I know you can pull up to the servo and fill up a bottle at less than half the price )? Does anyone have one? Any advice, tips, warnings etc, appreciated. The sellers are in NSW & NT. Still in 2 minds.

what is the adaptor for? auto LPG? if so read up on what is in auto LPG as it can be upto 50% butane where as normal bbq gas (propane) is upto 8% butane. I don’t know the repercussions of using it for your bbq or heating. in saying that i’ve heard of butane campstoves and lighters so maybe the gas companies have scared people off the obvious cheaper alternative.
As for the adaptor, well it doesn’t even show a picture, i need pictures😀

I may be wrong, but I think it is illegal in Australia to fill bbq bottles with LPG. I am thinking of doing it too but might look at using an actual car LPG tank instead. I understand you have a supply of tanks though. I have seen a YouTube video of an Austrian guy travelling the world in an Iveco truck that does use LPG for heating water and cooking in the truck and has not had an issue filling up in Australia. Can send the link if anyone is interested.
