The downfall was when some of the newbies started posting pics and content of real goings on that threatened the couch survivalist club and their stained on and often disgusting opinions. Ii liked some of the old content but also some of the newbie stuff was interesting too. It never meshed well due to personalities. The trolling and oneupmanship got so bad people just left. good riddance.

I remember aussuvivalist forum, legions notebook, kilda-kiwis wild rants. Shame it went off the rails, it was a good source of survivalist info. The scenarios by flymaster were always fun to read!

If you are not already living where you believe you have a good chance of survival and a survival type lifestyle when the system falls over you are going to end up like the sheep many of you make reference to.
If you have six months supply of an item when the system falls over you will have six months to either grow it, make it or learn to go without it.

"Talk To The Fist" was awesome he would call out all the bikies he vehemently hated then post online his actual address and phone number for them to call to come fight him! He had no fear that bloke, after he had chugged a tonne of Ganja he would take on the World!

Quote's from Duke Nukem to keep sort of on topic.
10. Your face, your ass - what's the difference? 9. Now you see me, now you’re dead. 8. Your ass is grass, and I’ve got the weed whacker. 7. You're an inspiration for birth control. 6. My boot, your face; the perfect couple. 5. I’m an equal opportunity ass kicker 4. Little pig, little pig let me in. Or I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll kick your ass in! 3. I've got balls of steel. 2. Hail to the king, baby! 1. It’s time to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I’m all outta gum.

I’m still amazed he got a PhD for this and angry he caused John to take the board down as a consequence. I’m the crazy doctor embedded in the ideology. I still think he completely missed the point about why most of us prepare Government websites and ads are telling us to prepare, eg. what's your bushfire plan? Advanced medical training? Seriously?
This is not the level of PhD stuff, it's the level of tabloid rubbish.

"If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun"....... The Dalai Lama
This especially pertains to the Military and Police! However, in Australia as a private citizen the cops expect you to be a well behaved crime victim and die with some dignity and minimal fuss or you'll be arrested and charged!

Acting upstream of a problem is more effective than acting downstream. As an example, if a community on the bank of a stream is having trouble with contamination of the water, go upstream and remove the source of the pollution, e.g. dead animal, instead of attempting to purify the water which has already been contaminated. This idea can be applied to many different situations.

and yeah, LinkedIn. It's a poisoned chalice. If you want every recruiter in your industry in the country (and some from overseas) to chase you and offer you interviews, go for it. But be very careful about what you put on there. Do not put a photo up. It's hard enough to keep any semblance at all of privacy. Having your photo there is just asking for trouble. This is especially true for government work. Our C neighbours C to P the north actively trawl through it for information on people to exploit. Just finally manged to close my Linkdin account, had it for about a decade when I was first trying to get into mining and make friends with mining recruiters lol Haven't used it since.
